"Love of the out doors came naturally to me when I was a child, as I followed my  father's footsteps.  Although I missed his good fortune of being raised in the country, I grew  up loving the wind in my hair, a sunburn on my skin, and dirt under my nails.  My childhood home was in Fort Worth, Texas, where my dad built our house when World War II ended.  I drew, colored, and painted, and planted a garden just about every year.  Little came up, but my hopes and enthusiasm never dimmed.
